Fiery Dragon Noodles with Shrimp and Lime

According to the internet (which happens to know everything) there are a few reasons why these are called dragon noodles. One recipe that I read said that they are a Japanese recreation of a Chinese recipe and named after the people of the dragon. Some other say that they are called that because the noodles are supposed to be shaped like a dragon's beard. (originally the noodles are feet and feet long) But the explanation that we use at our house, is because these noodles make you breathe fire!

You can use any noodles that you have on hand. If you don't want to use the ramen noodles, vermicelli makes a great substitute because they are so thin and cook so fast.

You can also add any vegetables that you have on hand, these are just the ones that I had in the fridge. I think it would be great with snow peas and mushrooms or bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. The more veggies the better, right?

These has the perfect amount of firey heat for us, but if you are looking for something even spicier, add some red pepper flakes or top with some sriracha sauce.  I made these for a quick lunch one day when we all had colds and were were loving the heat and being able to finally taste some food.

These just might be on the menu this weekend again, looking at these pictures has me craving them again like crazy.
