What Else Can I Do With Brussels Sprouts?

There isn't a more popular vegetable to roast at our house that Brussels Sprouts. Their sweet crisp perfection is one of our family favorites, so I am always roasting them.  But that means they seldom get used in other ways, but they are so delicious in lots of other ways. Next time you are picking some up to roast them, buy another bag and use them in one of these other ways.

I don't think that even the people in my family would pick up a whole brussels sprout and eat the little cabbage looking thing. They are a bit intimidating raw, and their potential bitterness needs to be softened in the way you present it.
Using some knife skills, or a mandolin slicer, you can shred them into little slices that fall right apart, or you can trim the bottoms off and use the leaves. Making them smaller, means when you begin to dress or sauce them, they "take" the sauce a lot better.

Use Them in a Salad

Serve Them with a Warm Sauce

or how about ditching the traditional broccoli and topping your brussels sprouts with a cheese sauce

Substitute with Them

Use them instead of spinach in dips, use the leaves
Use them shredded in the place of Kale in salads.
